I have lived in Colorado close to four decades and have trekked up into the mountains each fall to view the beautiful aspens turning golden yellow. This year was the perfect combination of great autumn weather and temperatures that allowed the aspen trees to come into full color. My wife Janice and I drove to the historic mining town of Central City, Colorado and walked around the 1860’s town cemetery photographing the monuments beneath the golden canopy of leaves.
The following photographs represent our journey throughout the forested graves and from our drive into the countryside. The images reveal the beauty of Colorado and the glorious end of summer and beginning of the cold season. Enjoy!
